2,480 vehicles seized on the 1st day of lockdown in Hyderabad
As many as 2,480 vehicles were seized on the 1st day of lockdown, said the Hyderabad police. All the vehiclists were found on the streets for no reason. No one is allowed to enter on roads unless there is an emergency during the lockdown period i.e till March 31, said the police.
The police have set up 73 check posts under 25 traffic police station limits and seized 2,480 vehicles that include 1,058 two-wheelers, 948 auto-rickshaws and 429 four-wheelers. "The people were seen moving on the roads even after the lockdown," the police said appealing them to stay at home.
"Those who do not follow the protocols will be booked under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code," a statement issued by the Hyderabad police said.
On the other hand, around 33 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported in the state so far. And 97 suspects are undergoing tests, said the Health Minister Eatala Rajender. The minister also asked the foreign returnees to maintain quarantine and requested not to go outside.
