25 coronavirus positive cases in Bhadradri district

Kothagudem: Post lockdown relaxation, Covid-19 positive cases in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district have increased suddenly in just one-week time. It should be reminded here that the district was announced as green zone.

On Monday, the total number of cases increased to 25 in the district making the people panic. The district administration took all precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

In this regard, District Collector Dr MV Reddy held a meeting with all district medical officers, Municipal Chairman, revenue officers, MPDOs and municipal commissioner to discuss the measures to prevent coronavirus spread, at the Collectorate in Kothagduem on Monday. The Collector observed since the district is an industrial hub and has road connections with border States, number of people from other districts and States will come to district for work. He asked the officers and industrial managements to concentrate on the movement of people from other States.

Collector MV Reddy informed that all those people, who contacted the 25 corona positive people, were sent for home quarantine. The officials concerned were ordered to check home quarantine centres and monitor the movements of them twice a day. They were also told to declare containment zones and close both entry and exit points and set barricades in those areas.

The Collector asked them to set a control room in municipal office and MPDO office and appealed to the people to wear mask and sanitise to protect themselves from getting infected with coronavirus. Don't forget to maintain social distancing when they come out of their houses, he added and appealed to old-aged, pregnant women and children not to come outside of their houses.

Joint Collector K Venkateshwarlu, DRDA PD Madhusudhan Raju, District Revenue Officer Ashok Chakravarthy, RDO Swarna Latha and other district officials participated in the meeting.
