2nd phase Parishad polls: 314 candidates to test their luck today
Khammam: The district authorities have made all the arrangements for the second phase of Parishad polls to be held six mandals of the district on Friday. Staff allocation, setting up of polling centers and security arrangements at sensitive polling areas has already been done.
The polling will begin at 7 am and continue till 5 pm. In the second phase, polls will be held for six mandals i.e., Enkuru, Kalluru, Penuballi, Sathupalli, Thallada and Vemsoor mandals.
The elections will be held for six ZPTC and 82 MPTC positions. A total of 280 candidates are in fray for 82 MPTC positions and 34 candidates are going to fight it out for six ZPTC positions.
All the candidates have campaigned widely in the last few days to gain the voters support. Meanwhile, three MPTC positions have been declared unanimously elected. 477 polling stations have been set up for the polls to be held on Friday where 2,30,072 voters will exercise their franchise.
