3 fake Maoists held in Mancherial

Mancherial: Ramagundam Commissionerate police arrested three fake Maoists and seized an Indian made pistol, eight bullets, three mobile phones and a two-wheeler, stated Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana at a press meet at Jaipur ACP office here on Friday.

Speaking to the media, Satyanarayana said Task Force police have arrested three fake Maoists for extorting money from a Sarpanch. The accused had sent a letter to Narva village Sarpanch Raj Kumar of Jaipur mandal demanding Rs 5 lakhs towards Maoist party fund and for Moist's week-long celebrations with a bullet on behalf of Maoist Action Team commander Ranadheer. The letter also explained his tour programme of the last 20 days. Besides, the fake Maoists made threatening phone calls to the sarpanch.

The sarpanch, who was afraid of this, had informed to the police. Task Force police with the help of technology traced the number and identified the fake Maoists and arrested them at Chennur cross roads. Police had identified them as Bomma Chandrashekar Reddy, Manginapalli Naveen Reddy of Nilvai village of Vemanapalli mandal and T Rajeshwar Reddy of Adarshnagar of Chennur mandal.

Addicted to lavish life style and easy money, they formed a gang and took to extortion to make more money in a short time. As part of their plant, they threatened the sarpanch to pay Rs 5 lakhs, else they will kill him.The Commissioner asked the people not to be afraid of fake Maoists calls and to inform the police immediately about the calls.
