300 newly selected constables found with criminal cases in Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana Police Recruitment Board has said that few selected constables in the recent recruitment have been found with the criminal cases.

After completing all tests, the candidates were selected for constable training. The board has identified 300 candidates with a criminal record and among them, 100 candidates tried to hide the cases against them.

The police officials said that with the help of the advanced technology they have identified the issue. It's shocking that many were booked under POCSO Act and murder cases.

The officials are investigating the details of these candidates and an inquiry committee has been formed on the issue. Later, the state recruitment board will make the decision before the training begins for the selected constables.

The Telangana Police Recruitment Board has issued notification for nearly 17,000 constable posts in May 2018. Where 13,373 men and 2,652 women were qualified in written examination (Prelims / Mains) and physical test and got selected for the posts.
