4 killed, 15 hurt in separate road accidents in Telangana
Suryapet/Yadadri-Bhongir/Nagarkurnool: In separate road accidents that took place on Tuesday, nearly four people were killed and 15 others suffered injuries.
In Suryapet district, one person died on the spot while four others suffered injuries in a road accident that took place on national highway-65 at Moddula Cheruvu near Munagala mandal headquarters on Tuesday early hours.
According to sources and the police, the mishap took place when a Volvo bus of private travels bound to Hyderabad from Visakhapatnam hit a parked cement loaded lorry on its rear end. In this incident, one person died on the spot, while four others in the bus suffered injuries.
The deceased was identified as Tejasvi Reddy (18) of Regadi village of Thupranpet mandal of Ranga Reddy district, whereas the injured were identified as Madhusudan Reddy (uncle of Tejasvi Reddy), KVP Chary, a native of Visakhapatnam and his wife, Sarojini, and Manideep, a native of Visakhapatnam. There were 40 persons on board at the time of the accident.
After receiving information, local police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to government area hospital in Suryapet for treatment. Local SI Mahipal Reddy said that the accident could have happened to drowsy driving. A case was registered and probe is on, he added.
In another incident, two persons were killed while one suffered severe injuries in an accident that took place on Hyderabad-Warangal highway at Johnson Nagar near Rayagiri village in the district on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Md Abu (26) and Md Ghouse (30), both natives of Hyderabad. Another youth Md Jamal suffered critical injuries and was shifted to hospital for treatment.
According to sources and the police, the trio was heading on a bike towards Kazipet to attend a funeral of their relative. The accident took place when a speeding car heading towards Hyderabad from Warangal in the opposite direction hit the motorcycle on which the trio was travelling.
After receiving information, Bhongir rural police rushed to the spot and shifted the dead bodies to government area hospital in Bhongir for post-mortem examination.
Similarly, in a road accident that took place at Nandi Vaddeman village of Bijinepally mandal in Nagarkurnool district, one person was killed and 10 others suffered critical injuries when a tractor they were travelling in overturned. The condition of three injured was said to be very critical.
