4-month-old boy dies of alleged medical negligence
Khammam: Tension prevailed for some time at a private hospital in Sathupally town on Thursday, when the relatives of four-month-old boy who died staged a protest alleging doctors negligence.
According to sources, Dandu Upendra, a driver and his wife Siva Kumari, residents of Ramanagaram village, admitted their baby boy, Likhit, who was unwell, at a private hospital in Sathupally on Wednesday evening. Doctors provided him the needed treatment. However, as there was no improvement in the boy's death, the doctors advised the boy's parents to take him to Khammam.
On the advice of doctors, the parents shifted the boy to Khammam. The doctors who examined the boy declared him brought dead. Angered over not providing proper treatment and for misleading them, the parents and relatives staged a dharna in front of private hospital in Sathupally on Thursday. Later, they called off dharna after getting assurance from the officials concerned.
