40 Smart Public Toilets to come up in Karimnagar city

Karimnagar: For the convenience of city residents and those, who visit the city regularly and keeping the increasing population of Karimnagar city in view, about 40 smart public toilets will be constructed at various places across the city, informed BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar.

Accompanied with City Mayor Yadagiri Sunil Rao, Minister Kamalakar inaugurated Smart Public Toilet in the premises of SRR Degree College in Karimnagar city on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said as per the suggestions of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and IT Minister KT Rama Rao, Smart Public Toilets will be set up with all modern facilities. As per the four-lakh population living in Karimnagar city, Karimnagar Municipal Corporation (KMC) had passed a resolution to construct around 40 Smart Public Toilets (SPTs) in association with private parties.

The SPTs will be constructed at places like Collectorate, bus stand, vegetable markets, shopping malls etc, where there will be a huge rush of people, he informed.

City Municipal Commissioner Valluri Kranthi, Deputy Mayor Challa Swarupa Rani, Kothapalli Municipal Chairman Rudra Raju and corporators were present along with others.
