439 cases booked for not following traffic rules

Hyderabad: City Traffic Police on Tuesday conducted a special drive on vehicles especially cars which were not following the provisions of MV Act by using improper and irregular, fancy registration number plates and fixing black films to vehicle windows.

In this drive, Hyderabad Traffic Police booked 439 cases against violating vehicles, in which 381 for improper number plates and 58 for fixing black films to the car windows.

Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad Anil Kumar said traffic police was regularly booking cases against improper number plate and fixing of black film to windows and this year so far, the police booked 87,972 cases against improper registration number plates and 987 cases against using black films on the windscreens. In the month of August 2019, the Traffic Police has registered 28 criminal cases against the violations for using tampered and illegal numbered plates.

He requested the motorists and vehicle owners to use proper number plates on their vehicles as per the guidelines issued under rule 50, 51 of CMV Rule-1989. Fixing of black film prevents visibility inside the vehicle and is violation under Rule 100 of CMV Rules.
