500 fine for throwing garbage on roads in Nirmal
Nirmal: Villages should be developed as models for others with the implementation of 30-day action plan, District Collector M Prashanthi directed special officers, village secretaries, MPDOs and APMs at a meeting at the Collector conference hall in Nirmal on Wednesday.
She told the officials to list out the works, village-wise, to be done, then work according to the action plan to develop the villages beautifully. The officials were told to work in coordination with the standing committee members in preparing list of sanitation, Haritha Haram and electricity. She told them to remove unwanted saplings, to clean drainages, to avoid use of plastic bags and to plant saplings under Haritha Haram drive to develop green cover in all villages.
The Collector told the officials concerned to plant saplings on both sides of roads under avenue plantation and to protect them. 'Supply two dustbins for dry and wet garbage. Impose a fine of Rs 500 on those, who dump garbage on roads. Create awareness among the people to construct individual toilets in every house," the officials were directed. APMSs were told to ensure shramadanam should be done with self-help groups.
District Rural Development Officer Venkateshwarlu, District Panchayat Officer Srinivas, DLPO Bhainsa Shivakrishna, APOs, special officers, village secretaries and others were present at the meeting.
