54 vehicles seized during cordon and search in Nirmal

Nirmal: The police on Monday seized 51 bikes, three auto rickshaws and liquor worth Rs 50,380 during cordon and search operation at Alooru village, Sarangapur mandal in Nirmal district. About 100 police persons took part in the operation.

Nirmal Superintendent of Police C Shashidhar Raju said they have detained 54 vehicles without proper documents. During the cordon and search operation, Shashidhar Raju interacted with the locals and educated them about law. He told them that cordon and search operation is being carried out for controlling crime and identifying criminals. New blue colt and patrol car teams have been launched for 24x7 surveillance within urban and rural areas. These teams will constantly patroll for public safety and monitor the movement of criminals.

The Police Commissioner stressed the need for installing CCTV cameras at the centre of the village. He urged the vehicle riders to wear helmets compulsorily for their safety and for their family and kids. He requested that everyone should cooperate in controlling crime and legal action will be taken against those, who do not have proper documents.

Later the Police Commissioner felicitated a villager for wearing helmet always.

Additional SP Dakshinamurthy, DSP Uppender Reddy, Inspector John Diwakar, Srinivas Reddy, RI Venkat, sub-inspectors and constables were present.
