6 Lakh worth gold Yagnopavetham donated to Bhadradri temple
Bhadrachalam: A gold ornament worth Rs 6 lakh called Yagnopavetham was donated by the devotees of Ramanjaneeya Charitable Trust Hyderabad to Lord Rama temple on Thursday.
The representatives of the Trust handed over the ornament to the temple Executive Officer T Ramesh Babu in the presence of Ahobila Jeeyar Swamy on temple premises.
Temple chief priest Podicheti Ramachandracharyulu and other priests in the temple and Sri Ramanjaneeya Charitable Trust members were present.
Meanwhile, Ramanuja Tirumanjanam programme was conducted by the priests in the temple. During the time, a special abhishekam and special pujas were performed by the priests in the temple.
Sri Rama Vijayothsava yatra
As part of Sri Rama Krathuvu programme here in the temple town Bhadrachalam, the Sri Rama Vijayothsava procession was conducted here on a grand note by the Chinna Jeeyar Matam on Thursday.
Amid chanting of hymns and slogans, the yatra was off to a colourful start on the Bhadrachalam streets.
The Chinna Jeeyar Matam along with Vikas Tarangani organisation made all the necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of yatra.
The yatra was conducted under the observation of Ahobila Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamy. Speaking on the occasion, he said as part of conclusion of Sri Rama Krathuvu, the procession programme was conducted here.
The Krathuvu programme which was started some 27 days ago at the Jeeyar Matam concluded on Wednesday.
After the conclusion of Krathuvu programme, the Sri Rama Vijayothsava procession was taken out on Thursday, he added.
He also remembered that in 1964-65, seer Thridandhi Pedha Jeeyar Swamy conducted the Sri Rama Krathuvu program and procession program with elephants here on a grand note.
After a long gap, the programme was planned. However, due to some issues, the procession by elephants was cancelled.
Instead procession with Bajana and Kolatam was taken up. Meanwhile, the residents of the temple town and devotees were disappointed due to cancellation of procession by elephants.
"After a long gap, the programme was planned. In earlier days, we have not seen a procession with elephants.
This time I have come to witness the procession by elephants, but hugely disappointed," said a devotee who came from far off place to be part of the procession.
