6 minors gang rape 21-yr-old in Mahbubabad district

Mahabubabad: A 21-year-old woman was gang-raped by six minors at Amangal village under Mahabubabad district late on Friday night.

According to circle inspector Venkatratnam, the woman, who is working with a catering service company in Hyderabad, belongs to Satyanarayanapuram village under Yellandu mandal in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.

The woman who boarded Kakatiya train on her way to her village tried to contact her parents and then relatives to pick up her but in vain.

She sought the help of her friend Chandu residing in Balaramtanda of Mahabubabad town to pick her up as it was too late in the night to travel to her village in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.

Chandu went to Mahabubabad railway station and took her to his Thanda. After sometime, he took her to his friend's residence at Amangal, 7 kilometres from Mahabubabad district headquarters. The duo joined by another friend who took her to a mango garden where they allegedly raped her.

Later, Chandu also summoned three more friends belonging to Signal Colony and Bhavani Nagar Colony in Mahabubabad. Amangal Sarpanch Islawath Harilal Naik who got a tip-off about the incident informed the police who in turn rushed to the spot.

Seeing the police, the accused, all said to be minors, tried to flee from the spot. But the police managed to get hold of them. The woman was sent to government hospital for medical examination. Inspector Venkatratnam said that investigation is on.
