6 new cases take Telangana count to 27
Hyderabad: There is no respite to Telangana as far as Covid-19 positive cases are concerned as on Sunday six more new cases were confirmed taking the total tally to 27.
According to the latest medical bulletin on Sunday, a 50-year-old housewife whose husband and son had tested positive earlier was confirmed to be down with coronavirus.
She had come to Hyderabad from Dubai on March 14. Both husband and wife travelled to Dubai. While husband tested positive on March 19, their son (who was locally transmitted with the virus) tested positive on Saturday.
Another four members of the family are under watch for infection. Meanwhile, all the six positive cases reported on Sunday were stable. Of them three have travel history from London, while two returned from Sweden while another came from Dubai.
All the six new cases were foreign returnees and no local transmission case was reported. Of the six positive cases, two belong to Andhra Pradesh. They landed at Shamshabad airport and hence were tested by Telangana authorities here and both were confirmed positive to the virus.
The 22nd positive case (P22) is a 24-year-old male from Guntur. He reached Hyderabad from London via Dubai. Patient 23 is a 23-year-old male from Kukatpally who travelled from London to Hyderabad via Doha. Another patient is a 26-year-old male student from Rajolu in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh.
He reached Hyderabad on March 16 and had a travel history to Sweden. P 25 is a 34-year-old married male from Manikonda in Ranga Reddy district.
He reached Hyderabad on March 14 and was under home quarantine until developing symptoms a few days ago. Patient 26 is a 23-year-old male from Kothagudem in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district. He reached Hyderabad from London on March 18.
