6 TRS MLAs in touch with BJP

Update: 2019-09-11 02:57 IST

Hyderabad: Amidst reports that internal bickerings in TRS are increasing, the BJP seems to be closely watching the developments and working out its own strategies to strengthen the party in Telangana.

Speaking to The Hans India, a senior BJP leader, on condition of anonymity, said that as of now six MLAs from the ruling TRS, a few more MLCs and district-level party leaders were in touch with the BJP in the State as well as with the national party leadership.

Outbursts of Minister Eatala Rajender, former minister Naini Narasimha Reddy, MLAs Rasamai Balakrishna, Jogu Ramanna, S Rajaiah and M Hanumantha Rao were a clear indication of growing discontent brewing in the ruling party.

Another top leader of the BJP said the State will witness more action in the ruling party after the elections to the urban local bodies (ULBs).

Telangana BJP president K Laxman said that there are several who are in touch with the party and they will be joining at an appropriate time. Senior party leader Nallu Indrasena Reddy said it is only a matter of time that the TRS bubble will burst.

The party leaders, MLAs and others within the party are sensing the anti-TRS trend getting intensified and hence the MLAs were looking towards BJP which alone can emerge as an alternative.

"The national leadership has already focused on the political strategy to bring BJP into power in 2023," he said. When asked whether the nine MLAs of the TRS leaders joining the party in the presence of party chief Amit Shah is on the cards, BJP chief spokesperson Krishna Saagar Rao said, "It is a sheer speculation."
