60-year-old gets seven-year RI for raping minor girl in Hyderabad

A 60-year-old retired RTC conductor was awarded seven-year-old jail-term for raping a five-and-a-half-year-old girl in April 2018.

Justice Suneetha, the first additional metropolitan sessions court judge also awarded Rs 2,000 fine besides the imprisonment.

Public prosecutor K Prathap Reddy said that the convicted, a neighbour of the girl took her to his bedroom on the pretext of giving food and raped the girl. The incident occurred on April 4, 2018.

Though the accused threatened the girl not to reveal the matter, the girl told her mother who filed a case against the retired RTC conductor. The police registered a case then.
