7 children drown in separate incidents in Telangana
Around seven people were drowned in two incidents on Wednesday in Rudraram near Patancheru and at Nagarkurnool.
In the first case, four children identified as Govardhan, Vishnuvardhan, Anand and Nandini all aged between 10 and 17, went to their grand mother's home in Rudraram. On Wednesday, they went to a nearby quarry which filled with water.
While playing, two kids went middle of the quarry and started drowning. The two who went to their rescue also drowned. The children are the residents of Alwal.
In the second case, three children identified as Shailaja (12), Anil (12) and his sister Swathi (9) drowned when went to an irrigation tank for fishing. However, another boy Ganesh was rescued by a villager from drowning. His condition is said to be critical.
