A bouquet of white lies: BJP

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit called the full-fledged budget for 2019-20, presented in the State Assembly on the first day of the Budget session here on Monday, a bouquet of white lies.

Reacting on the budget, BJP MLC N Ramachander Rao termed the budget disappointing and said that the TRS government tried to throw the blame on the centre for everything while hiding its own failures.

Ramachander Rao said the full-fledged budget for the financial year 2019-20 is down by Rs 32,000 crore when compared with the earlier vote on account budget presented by the government.

He said discussion on the budget is yet to take place. However, there was nothing new in the budget except that while presenting the budget, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao tried to blame the Centre and projected the Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) in poor light.

Private hospitals are rejecting to extend medical services due to the non-clearance of the Aarogyasri dues resulting in people facing hardships. But the State government chooses to deny the benefits of Ayushman Bharat Scheme (ABS) by refusing to implement the scheme.

This shows the State government is not ready to accept its own mistakes. Further, K Chandrashekar Rao has given a misled on the issue of fiscal deficit budget and he also condemned the State government diverting the CSS funds.

BJP State Chief Official Spokesperson K Krishna Saagar Rao said the State budget presented by the Chief Minister is too little and too late and it lacks factual representation and fiscal vision for the State.

He said the presentation is an uninspiring rendering of window dressed accounts delivered only for constitutional and governance compliance.

Further, it also highlights the plight of the newly appointed Finance Minister T Harish Rao as only a dummy. He alleged that State has experienced an economic slowdown way before the world did due to the mis-governance of the incumbent Chief Minister.

Lack of fiscal prudence, discipline and a vision, the State finances are in a serious mess calling for the imposition of an Economic Emergency, he said.

Even the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has clearly exposed the government's massive mismanagement of central funds and diversion of the same to the Chief Minister's pet projects, he alleged.
