ABVP bandh successful in Nizamabad

Nizamabad: ABVP school bandh was successful in Nizamabad district. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) gave a call for one day State-wide school bandh on Friday in protest against exorbitant fees charged by private and corporate schools in the State and also wants the government to implement the Right to Education Act and form district fee regulatory committees.

Government and private schools, colleges and universities remained closed on the day. Speaking on the occasion, ABVP State joint secretary Ajigiri Rakesh accused the State government of not providing infrastructure in government schools. He demanded reduction of fees, sought to fill the vacant teachers posts in government schools and pucca school buildings. Earlier, ABVP leaders conducted a protest rally with a government scarecrow.
