ACB nets deputy MRO while taking Rs 1 lakh bribe in Nararkurnool

Nagarkurnool: The ACB officials nads a deputy MRO while taking bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a person at Nararkurnool Collectorate on Monday. The deputy tahsildar Jayalakshmi of Thimmajipet Mandal is also the in-charge superintendent of Section-C at the district Collectorate.

She demanded Rs 13 lakh from D Venkataiah regarding a disputed land at Marepally village in Thimmajipet Mandal over the change of Patta passbook. After much negotiation, she agreed for Rs 10 lakh, with payments in installments.

With this, Venkataiah approached ACB officials. On Monday, as per the plan, Venkataiah went to the Collectorate and was handing over Rs 1 lakh towards the first installment to Jyothi after which the ACB sleuths raided and seized the currency.

ACB DSP B Krishna Goud appealed to the people to call (1062) toll-free number to report any demand for a bribe by government officials. Jyothi will be produced before an ACB Magistrate, after which she will be sent for remand.
