Acharyulu, Brahmas to play key role in Rama Kalyanam

Bhadrachalam: The annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy temple at Bhadrachalam, which began on April 6 will conclude on 20th of this month. Lakhs of devotees will throng to witness the celestial programmes on this occasion.

Temple priests will conduct various programmes as per the sastra. Various programmes like Ankurarpana, Dwajapata Lekhanam, Garuda adhirohanam and the like traditionally.

They will also conduct celestial wedding, Pattabhishekam and Chakra-Snanam in a grand scale as per Pancharatra Agama shastra. The responsibility of conducting the main event of Brahmotsavalu and celestial wedding will be taken up by Stanacharyulu (main priest) KE Stala Sai.

As per his guidelines, chief priests Podicheti Sitaramanuja Charyulu and Amaravadhi Vijaya Raghavan will perform the rituals.

Mukhya Archaka A Srinivasa Ramanujam will act as Acharya and A Gopala Krishnama Charyulu will act as Brahma in conducting the celestial wedding and other programmes.

Other priests of the temple P Satyanarayana Charyulu and K Vishu will act as rithviks and A Murali Krishnamacharyulu will do the alamkaram (decoration), and S Srinivasa Charyulu and Paricharak K Pavan Kumar will assist them. Vedic pundits

also will participate in the ceremonial events.

The celestial wedding will be conducted at Mithila Stadium near the temple on Sunday.

The temple priests said that Acharyulu and Brahmas will play a key role in the celestial wedding.

They will give suggestions to the priests, who are performing the kalyanam. The rithvik will support the priests in doing the Kalyanam, they said. The entire celestial wedding will be performed as per Pancharatra Agama shastra in Vyshnava tradition, the priests explained.
