Action plan implementation in full swing in Khammam
Khammam: District Collector RV Karnan on Thursday observed the sanitation works in the mandals of Bonakal and Madhira. During his visit to Siripuram village in Madhira mandal, the Collector observed roads and drainages besides visiting the houses.
He informed the villagers that the State government was giving funds for the development of villages and all the villagers must take part in various programmes to keep their village clean and away from seasonal diseases. He appealed to villagers to keep their surroundings clean and see to it that waters don't stagnate in open places, in tyres, coolers as they would serve as breeding grounds for disease-spreading vectors.
He directed the panchayat officials to carryout mosquito fogging besides conducting awareness programmes on seasonal diseases.
Later, the Collector visited minority Gurukul school in Madhira and interacted with the students. He suggested the students to educate their parents about the importance of keeping the surroundings clean and green during their Dasara vacation. He asked the health officials to explain the reasons for the spread of fevers, and suggested the villagers to drink boiled and cooled water.
Urging the villagers to stop using the plastics, he said plastics cause grave dangers to environment and the ecosystems. The Collector also visited Athkoor villager and Brahmanpally villages under Bonakal mandal and interacted with the villagers. He inspected the Panchayat building, Government High School building and Anganwadi in the village.
Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Priyanka, Mandal Parishad Officer Revathi, Madhira Tahsildar Pool Singh and officials of various departments accompanied the Collector.
