Adilabad: Dandari-Gussadi festival celebrated in grand manner
Adilabad: District Collector D Divya called upon the Adivasis to celebrate their culture and tradition in a grand manner, while addressing Gussadi Dandari celebrations at the Collector Camp Office in Adilabad on Monday.
The Collector said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao allocated Rs 1 crore for the Joint Adilabad district to celebrate Dandari festival, Rs 10,000 for each Gussadi team of 1,000 tribal villages in the joint district.
For the first time, elders of Gond, Kolam, Pardan, Naikpod and other communities were invited to the Collector Camp Office and felicitated. Gussadi puja was performed as per tradition by Collector Divya, SP and Sub-Collector along with their families.
Gussadi teams of Komaram Bheem Colony, Kothuru of Adilabad mandal, Jamada of Narnoor mandal, and Dongergov of Indervelli mandal performed Gussadi dances.
The Collector, SP and Sub-Collector served food to them during lunch programme.
Superintendent of Police Vishnu S Warrier, Joint Collector G Sandhya Rani, Sub-Collector Gopi, District Medical and Health Officer T Chandu, tribal leaders Kanaka Lakkey Rao, Bheem Rao, Bojju, Siraram and others were present.
