Wanaparthy: Agriculture Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, while visiting the agriculture market yard on Wednesday in Wanaparthy, had given assurance to famers to not to get worried as the government was ready to procure even wet paddy at Minimum Support Price.

It may be recalled that the recent rains in Wanaparthy and Nagarkurnool districts damaged paddy in many places and washed away the paddy stocked in Amatmakur and Wanaparthy market yards.

"The State government is giving highest priority to farming sector and will take all necessary steps to ensure that the paddy farmer gets his due share. We have seen record paddy production this season and the government will procure maximum stocks at MSP from the farmers. However, we are having some problems with regard to getting adequate gunny backs for procuring the paddy. So there may be some delay, but overall we are ensuring that the farmers don't have any kind of problems at the market yards," said the Agriculture Minister.

The Agriculture Minister said that they are procuring gunny bags from Bangladesh in order to meet the growing demand for paddy procurement. The Minister asked the farmers to not to get depressed and if there was any problem they should immediately inform the Minister so that it could be solved as early as possible.
