AIDWA pleas to Collector seeking action against perpetrators

Khammam: The leaders and members of All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) submitted a memorandum to Collector RV Karnan seeking action against the nurse and the people responsible for posting the video of a woman giving birth to a baby online.

In the memorandum submitted, the AIDWA leaders demanded immediate arrest of all those responsible for the incident besides taking necessary action to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.

They also demanded to increase safety for women undergoing deliveries in government hospitals. They expressed concern over women losing trust in government hospitals due to the incident and urged the District Collector to take necessary action against the people who recorded the video and posted it online. They also demanded prohibition of taking pictures in the labour room.

Association district secretary Macharla Bharathi, vice-president Merugu Ramana, district committee members Bandi Padma Saraswathi, Ramya, Ajitha, Nagamani and others submitted the memorandum.
