AIMA cartoon expo sets national record
Hyderabad: Simultaneous exhibition of 100 photographs in 52 centres across 23 States in the country organised by the All India Malayalee Association (AIMA), as part of its Kerala State Formation Day celebrations, created all India record for such an exhibition.
The exhibition titled 'Sudheeralokavum Kerala Pazhamayum' included 50 selected cartoons of eminent cartoonist Sudheernath and 50 vintage photographs depicting lifestyle of Kerala decades back.
The Best of India Records declared the AIMA expo as 'national record', according to M K Sasikumar, secretary, AIMA Telangana unit, in a release issued here on Thursday.
The AIMA, through this exhibition, primarily intended to inculcate a sense of affection towards the rich heritage and culture of Kerala amongst the younger generations of Keralites residing across the country.
This event was aligned to be inspiring, attractive and enjoyable to more than a lakh visited spectators, said the release.
This 8-hour-long simultaneous exhibition was organised by its State units with the assistance of its more than 500 volunteers and a number of enrolled organisational members.
In Hyderabad, the exhibition was held at NSKK High School Auditorium, Ferozeguda, Balanagar. Best of India Records (BIR), published by IN-Cube Media, the most reliable registry of records.
Gokulam Gopalan, national president and P N Sreekumar, general secretary of AIMA expressed their gratitude towards the Best of India Records for incorporating this event in their registry.
They also thanked the AIMA fraternity for their tireless efforts in setting this world record, said Sasikumar.
