As a Vande Bharat mission, the Air India flight evacuated 163 Indians from Kuwait and brought them Hyderabad on Saturday. The Air India flight AI 988 from Kuwait landed at the airport at 10.07 pm on Saturday.

In the view of the passengers and aircraft crew arrival, the Hyderabad International Airport has kept everything sanitized including the international arrivals and public areas including washrooms, chairs, counters, trolleys, railings, doors, lifts, escalators and other things.

The airport also enforced the social distancing among passengers right from the aerobridge to across the terminal. The passengers were also screened by the Thermal cameras installed at the aerobridge exit. After the screening of passengers, the CISF personnel in their protective gear escorted the group of passengers to immigration clearance.

"Glass shields were provided at each manned immigration counter to avoid any personal contact between the passengers and the Immigration officers. Each counter had specified social distancing norms in place," an official said. Every baggage was also sanitized by the disinfection tunnel integrated to the baggage belt as arranged by the airport.

The passengers will be put under quarantine for 14 days at different places in the city. After the passenger's arrival, the international arrivals and every nook and corner of the airport were again sanitized.
