AIYF urges Health department to address rising cases of viral fevers
Mahbubnagar: The All-India Youth Federation (AIYF) members of Mahbubnagar district unit expressed their concern over growing cases of viral fevers, dengue, malaria and other vector-borne diseases in Mahbubnagar and demanded the State government to immediately announce a medical emergency in the district and take up immediate measures to help people prevent falling prey to such diseases, especially in villages.
Speaking to The Hans India, P Suresh, Mahbubnagar district secretary AIYF said that the Health department, particularly, the district health and medical department has miserably failed in taking up the precautionary measures to contain the vector-borne diseases.
He alleged that even though hundreds of people were visiting hospitals for treatment of viral fevers, the government has failed to provide adequate facilities like medicines, diagnostic and testing equipments and sufficient beds to the patients.
With the lack of facilities, the poor patients were forced to visit private hospitals that are charging hundreds and thousands of rupees for diagnosis.
Meanwhile, DMHO Rajini said that the district health department has taken up all measures.
