Warangal: Elaborate arrangements are being made for the counting of votes polled in the ZPTC and MPTC elections in Warangal Urban district, scheduled on May 27.

Warangal Urban District Returning Officer and Collector Prashanth Jeevan Patil who chaired a review meeting here on Friday, directed officials to make fool proof arrangements for the counting of votes. "The poll officials need to be well versed with the election manual," Patil said.

He told the officials to ensure arrangements for the counting of votes before May 20. He stressed the need for following the checklist in order to ensure counting hassle free. "Counting of MPTC votes will be taken up first. After the announcement of results, the officials will take up the counting of ZPTCs," Patil said. All the ballot boxes should be brought to the counting area after opening the strong rooms in the presence of counting agents. The entire process would be video-graphed, he said.

Zilla Parishad chief executive officer M Vijayagopal and district minority officer M Srinu were among others present.
