All parties eye ZPTC, MPTC elections
Adilabad: It seems that election season is continuing in Telangana. First elections began in December last year, followed by Lok Sabha elections that were concluded one week ago.
Now the villages are caught in the frenzy of ZPTC and MPTC elections, which will be held in May this year.
Meanwhile, all the parties are ready to jump into the election fray of territorial constituencies, whose schedule will be released shortly.
In panchayat elections, TRS had a clear sweep with most of its supporters winning the polls in the district while Congress had won major gram panchayats.
BJP, which doesn't have a strong hold on the rural areas, had also won many Sarpanch and vice-sarpanch seats in the panchayat elections. It appears that the saffron party is going to strengthen in rural areas.
The ruling TRS, which won the Panchayat elections in a clean sweep, is once again ready to show its strength in the coming local bodies elections.
Party working president KT Rama Rao gave a call to the party care to work hard to win all 66 ZPTC and 567 MPTC seats in the joint Adilabad district.
Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy, who played a crucial role in Lok Sabha election, and Mudhole MLA Vittal Reddy, Khanapur MLA Ajmeera Rekha Naik, Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna, Boath MLA Rathod Bapu Rao, Mancherial MLA Diwakar Rao, Sirpur MLA Koneru Konappa and Bellampalli MLA Durgam Chinnaiah are working hard for the party's victory in their respective jurisdictions.
The Congress, which tasted defeat in the Legislative Assembly and Panchayat elections, believes that people have been opposing TRS in the short term and people want to see the Congress again.
Even though Congress cannot dominate in panchayat elections. Congress leaders said that they won major gram panchayats. Former DCC president of joint district Maheshwar Reddy and DCC president Rama Rao Patel
and MP candidate Rathod Ramesh are sweating out for the victory of party candidates in their respective jurisdictions.
Meanwhile, BJP known as the urban party, visiting villages since the formation of Narendra Modi government at the centre in 2014 and is focussed primarily on youth. The party lost its deposit in Mudhole constituency in the Assembly elections and did well in gram panchayat elections by winning sarpanch and vice-sarpanch seats in several villages.
