All set for Lok Sabha poll voting today

Kothagudem: District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini said all arrangements were done for the Lok Sabha polls to be held on Thursday. He informed that there were 11 vulnerable and 18 critical polling centres in the district. Micro observers would monitor polling at 162 polling centres.

The polling process would be monitored through web casting at 160 centres, through CCTV cameras at 300 centres and videography at 150 polling centres. There were 9.19 lakh voters and 1,079 polling stations in five Assembly segments in Kothagudem, he said.

The distribution of polling material was completed in all areas, he added. On Wednesday, he inspected the distributing of polling material at Ramachandra Degree College.

Speaking to the media later, he said special arrangements were made for the convenience of physically-challenged, disabled aged voters and free transportation was arranged for them. He appealed to the voters to cast their votes without fear at their respective polling stations in the district.

All the precautions have been taken in and around the district and tight security arrangements have been made, Saini informed, appealing the voters to cooperate with the election staff for the smooth conduct of election.
