Warangal: The aim of the TRS government is to ensure better transportation facilities across the State, Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao said.

The Minister, who reviewed the proposals relating to erstwhile Warangal district to be taken up under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), a Central government's flagship programme aimed at providing connectivity to unconnected habitations as part of a poverty reduction strategy, at his camp office in Hyderabad on Monday, said that they have been striving to ensure tar roads to all villages.

He directed the officials to prepare proposals for the construction of roads to be taken up jointly by the Centre and State. The Minister instructed the officials to coordinate with the legislators of the erstwhile Warangal district before preparing the proposals. Further he told them to allocate Rs 20 crore works to each Assembly constituency.

The break-up of works should be Rs 8 crore in the first phase, another Rs 8 crore in the second phase and Rs 4 crore in the final phase, he added. "First priority will be given to the proposals submitted by the MLAs," he said, referring to the works to be taken up. He directed the officials to submit a detailed report to his ministry as early as possible.

Errabelli told the engineers of the Warangal Region SE Office to give special emphasis on connecting all the villages with tar road.

PMGSY State Chief Engineer M Rajasekhar Reddy, Warangal region Superintending Engineer S Sampath Kumar, Mahabubabad Executive Engineer K Suresh and other officials were present.
