Allocate 40% of state budget for local bodies
Vikarabad: ZP Chairperson Sunitha Reddy said 40 per cent of the state budget should be allotted to the local bodies for achieving 'Bangaru Telangana'.
Speaking during the meeting of ZP Chairmen in Hyderabad, she said as Centre allotting 42 per cent of funds to the states, the state should also give 40 per cent funds to the local bodies. She said the present allocation of 8 per cent of funds is not enough for the local bodies.
"The seigniorage funds from the mines and minerals are directly deposited into government treasury. I request you to deposit the share of local bodies directly into our accounts. The limit of releasing funds is extended from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh."
Chairman of the state finance corporation Rajesham assured that they would consider the suggestions made by the ZP Chairperson of Vikarabad. Secretary of Panchayat Raj Suresh Chandra, Principal Secretary Vikas Raj, member of the corporation Chennaiah appreciated Sunitha Reddy for valuable suggestion.
