Alternate policy to be announced to TSRTC: Transport minister

Hyderabad: Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar on Saturday said the state government would announce an alternative policy to the RTC services.

The chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Transport Minister Ajay Kumar are reviewing the TSRTC continuously. Ajay Kumar said that the state government would have a high-level meeting on the strike on Sunday and there would be the alternative policy on TSRTC.

The minister said that the government has given permits to about 7000 private buses. Applications were being received from drivers with a licence. They will be given training and will be given appointments, said Ajay Kumar.

The government has taken 3,000 to 4000 buses on hire basis from private persons. The government decided to have a policy with seamless travel facility to the passengers in wake of the strike, he said.

The minister reiterated that the employees who don't report to duties on Saturday evening will not be treated as employees and they will not be taken into the corporation in future also.
