An attempt to tarnish India's image at global level: BJP
Hyderabad: Criticising the Telangana Cabinet's anti-CAA decision, BJP on Monday termed it as an attempt to tarnish the image of the country globally.
Taking to Twitter, BJP national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao said that the Telangana Cabinet under Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao worked on the script of the Congress. He lashed out at the Cabinet decision and called it as an "attempt to tarnish India's reputation at the global level."
The BJP leader also asked, "CM KCR should explain why he wants citizenship for Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Myanmar (Rohingya) Muslims?"
Adding, Indian Muslims who are legitimate citizens of India and losing nothing because of CAA and should not fall prey to the mischievous campaign of TRS, AIMIM and Congress.
"This entire effort is completely in alignment with Pakistan's mischievous campaign against India. Telangana people will not accept this divisive vote bank campaign," he said.
Meanwhile, State BJP chief Dr K Laxman, in an informal chat with mediapersons here on Monday, said it was ridiculous that the State Cabinet led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao decided to pass a resolution against CAA and demanded its abrogation when the law enacted by Parliament is getting ready for implementation in the country.
Laxman questioned did KCR who claimed to have read thousands of books ever read the Indian constitution or an announcement made after the Cabinet, just to satisfy MIM which is protesting against CAA, he asked
Taking a dig at the KCR and KTR who always advocate not to discriminate on basis of religion, Dr Laxman said "you have no moral right to talk on discrimination on religion when your government has given 12 per cent reservation to Muslims."
