Anganwadi buildings to come up on premises of primary schools
Narayanpet: With an aim to improve enrolment at the primary school level, Naranyanpet District Collector S Venkat Rao has directed the officials to prepare a proposal to construct the Anganwadi centres on the premises of existing primary schools. As part of this, the Collector sought a report pertaining to availability of land and necessary requirement for the construction of Anganwadi buildings at all the mandal and village levels in the district.
Stressing that there is a need to improve enrolment in the government schools right at the 1st standard level, the Collector directed all the mandal-level, village-level officials to make sure that there is not a single school left out in the district.
"Every child whoever reaches five years of age groomed under Anganwadi centre must be enrolled into the government primary school in the first standard," said the Collector.
The Collector conducted a review meeting at the Prajavani Hall on Thursday and directed the mandal education officials, Panchayati Raj Deputy Engineers and Assistant Engineers and ICDS authorities to take necessary steps to improve the enrolment at the primary level.
He also wanted to know from the officials as to why they were delaying the construction of Anganwadi buildings? He directed them to conduct regular reviews and sort out the problems at the earliest and make sure the Anganwadi buildings are constructed at a brisk pace in the district.
