Anganwadi workers stage protest

Parigi: Demanding an increase in salaries, along with redressal of long pending issues, anganwadi workers staged dharna in front of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) office, here on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Centre for Indian Trade Unions (CITU) vice president of the district M Venkataiah, president of anganwadi union K Narsamma said anganwadi staff do not have the minimum amenities like PF, insurance and ESI.

They demanded a minimum salary of Rs 20,000 per month and regularising the service of the thousands of workers. They warned of intensifying the stir if the state government did not respond positively. They gave a call to lay seize to collectorates on 10 July.
