Update: 2019-12-06 18:33 IST

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen(AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi made an official statement after the four accused in Hyderabad veterinarian's rape and murder case were shot dead this morning. The police stated that the accused tried running away, and they had to fire at them for self-defense reasons.

"I am personally against this kind of 'encounter'. In today's 'encounter' a magisterial enquiry has been ordered. The fact remains that the encounter took place in police custody. I am against encounters. The MPs demanding immediate justice got what they were asking for. Due process was followed in Ajmal Kasab's case, why not in this?" ," said Owaisi speaking to the media.

All four accused in the Hyderabad veterinarian's rape and murder case have been killed in an exchange of fire with police on Friday morning, police have said. The incident took place around 6.30 am when the accused were taken to the site of offence for the reconstruction of the scene of the crime as part of the investigation, a senior police official was quoted. The officer in charge Sajjanar made the official statements speaking about the incident that has incited a range of reactions from the country's politicians, celebrities and common folk.

The four accused were shot dead on NH-44 near Hyderabad -- the same highway where the charred body of 26-year-old Disha was found.
