Kothagudem: Demanding fixed salaries, the Asha workers staged a protest in front of District Medical and Health Officer in Kothagudem on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, the workers demanded the government to give Rs 10,000 fixed salaries to them besides sufficient stationery.

The leaders of the workers threatened to conduct hunger strikes in all mandals and appealed to the workers to make the Chalo Collectorate programme on September 19, a huge success.

Leaders of workers association MV Appa Rao, Punem Jhansi, Ramana, Chandra Kala, Sunitha, Bharathi, Rukmini and others attended the programme. After the protest, they submitted a memorandum to the Superintendent at the District Medical and Health Officer's office.
