ASI arrested for forgery in Yadadri

An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police, Srinivas Rao has been arrested by the Yadagirigutta police for allegedly forging the signature of the Sub-Inspector.

An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police, Srinivas Rao has been arrested by the Yadagirigutta police for allegedly forging the signature of the Sub-Inspector.

Speaking to the media, Yadagirigutta CI Jana Reddy said that the ASI who is currently working as writer in the DCP office forged the signature of SI when was working in Yadadri police station in the final report of a land settlement case.

The incident came to light when the SI Ramesh (presently working in Aler) lodged a complaint stating that Srinivas Rao forged his signature in the land dispute case in 2017. The CI said that investigations revealed Srinivas Rao committing the crime. The ASI was arrested under section 465 (forgery), 468 (forgery for the purpose of cheating), 471 (fraudulently used as genuine a forged document), 469 (forgery for the purpose of harming reputation) and sent to remand.

Meanwhile, Srinivas Rao's wife staged a protest at the police station claiming that her husband was innocent and said that it is not right to arrest him.
