Asifabad: Congress protests against hike in onion prices
Asifabad: Congress leaders took out a rally in protest against the hike in onion prices, at Kagaznagar town in Komaram Bheem-Asifabad district on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Congress Sirpur constituency in-charge Dr. Harish Babu said the onion prices was increased from Rs 100 to Rs 200 due to the failure of both State and Central governments. People are suffering as they couldn't buy the onions at a higher price, which is the basic ingredient of food. Not only onions, but the prices of many other essential commodities also have increased steeply. Alleging that the State government is incapable of controlling the price hike, he demanded that the government should put a cap on the price hike of onions and should fix the onion price at Rs 25 per kg.
DCC OBC chairman Dasari Venkatesh, former municipal Chairman Dastagiri, former counsellor Sindam Srinivas, Debbati Srinivas, Shabbir, Mahesh, Balka Shyam, Minority district chairman Younes, Venu, Deepak, Sattibabu, MPTC Tirupathi, party workers Madhu, Purushotham, Ananth Rao, Harish and others were present.
