Asifabad: Give preventive vaccination for measles, Rubella

Asifabad: District Medical and Health Officer Dr Kumram Bhalu told the officials to give Measles vaccine to children below five years to protect them from death and Rubella vaccine to pregnant women to prevent genetic problems, while speaking at a workshop at DM&HO office in Asifabad on Tuesday.

Surveillance Medical Officer had instructed the medical officers hoe to identify Measles and Rubella deceases and how to collect samples, how to send them to Hyderabad and Delhi and case investigations during the meeting.

Immunization officer Dr Sitaram hoped to eradicate both measles and Rubella before 2023 and it is possible only when all the parents give their children the preventive vaccine. DM&HO conducted a review meeting on Malaria also.

Dr Subbarayudu, medical officers CHO Venkateshwarlu, Punnaiah, Krishna, Bheemanna, Praveen, deputy DMHO Dr Sudhakar Naik and others were present.
