Asifabad: Home guard impregnates woman, flees after she dies

Asifabad: A home guard impregnated a woman on the pretext of marrying her and fled away after the woman died during labour on Sunday here at a government hospital in Asifabad.

Sajjan Lal, a native of Dhampur of Komaram Bheem Asifabad district is working as a home guard. Lal befriended a woman Aruna and entered into a live-in relationship. Aruna, who became pregnant forced him to marry her but it went in vain.

On Sunday, she developed labour pains and delivered a dead baby in the mid-way to hospital. Aruna too died after delivering the baby.

Lal then shifted the two to the government general hospital in Asifabad and fled away. On learning Aruna's death, the parents demanded action against Sajjan Lal.
