Asifabad police named Dalit woman rape and murder case as Samata

Hyderabad: The Asifabad police said that they had named the rape and murder case of Dalit woman, which happened in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district on November 24th as Samata.

The police officials told that henceforth the media should call the victim's name as Samata in the case. Over this, the district SP office has released a statement.

On November 25th, the police have found the body of a woman who was gang-raped and killed in between Ramnayaktanda and Ellapatar villages in Lingapur mandal of Komaram Bheem Asifabad.

According to district police officials, the 30-year-old woman belonging to Khanapur of Nirmal had made a living by selling balloons and other items in the neighboring villages of Lingapur and Jainoor.

This incident had taken place three days before Disha's rape and murder in Shadnagar, which shocked the entire nation. In this context, Dalit leaders and villagers came on the roads seeking justice and demanded to encounter the culprits in the Samata case.

The police have arrested three persons Shaik Babu (35), Shaik Shaboddin (30) and Shaik Makdum (40), who confessed the crime. The police assured to file the charge sheet within one week, and a fast track court will be set up for the trial of the case.
