Asifabad: Police solved Samata case within 66 days

Asifabad: Within a short span of 66 days, the police have collector all the evidences and proved that three accused - A1 Shaik Babu (30), A2 Shaik Shaboddin(40) and A3 Shaik Mukdum (30) had committed crime in Samata gang rape and murder case.

Speaking to the media here on Thursday, Asifabad Superintendent of Police M Mallareddy said the victim was from Pathayellapur village of Khanapur mandal in Nirmal district and came to Asifabad in search of livelihood. She used to sell utensils and other items and was raped and murdered on November 24. The police had arrested the four accused on November 27 and named the case as Samatha.

Based on the by victim's husband Teku Gopi, the police lodged a complaint November 25. The victim's husband told the police that he dopped his wife at Pathayellapur village and went away. He didn't find his wife in the evening when he came back to pick her up.

After a search, he found her body in a very bad condition on the outskirts of the village. The police arrested the accused on November 27 and produced before the court after conducting medical check-up. As part of the case, the police enquired 44 evidences and inquired 25 prosecution evidences. Based on the postmortem report, the police filed charge sheet of 140 pages in the fast track court.
