Asifabad: Worker at Sirpur paper mill falls sick due to gas leakage

Close on the heels of Vishakapatnam gas leak incident, a worker fell sick on Monday after a small amount of gas leaked from the Sirpur paper mill located in Komaram Bheem-Asifabad district. The worker identified as Nagula Raju was shifted to hospital and his condition is said to be stable.

It is learned that around 20 workers were present at the time of the incident. Alerted over the gas leakage, the company management took up the repair works of the gas pipeline. Meanwhile, the officials are trying to find out how the gas has been leaked.

The incident created panic among the workers while the entire country is talking about the Vishakapatnam gas leak incident. Around 12 people had died after the styrene gas from LG Polymers leaked from the factory and also sickened many people. All are undergoing treatment in a hospital.
