AVHS alumni recall their student days
Hyderabad: Alumni of Andhra Vidyalaya High School (AVHS) recalled their good old student days at the platinum jubilee celebrations of the institution on its premises in Kattelamandi, Nampally.
They had a gala time exchanging pleasantries with their old classmates. Some of alumni expressed surprise over the chance to be able to interact with their friends. The alumni took selfies to record the event for keeps. They utilised the occasion to honour their teachers with affection.
The school, established by veteran historian Suravaram Pratap Reddy, Venkatranga Reddy and Madapati Hanumanth Rao to provide education during the Nizam's regime, brought light into the lives of many persons, besides providing employment to many, the alumni and representatives of AV Educational Society, which runs the institution, recalled while speaking at the event.
A 'Kavi Sammelanam' and cultural programmes were organised during the day. Three students of the 1944 batch Akkinapalli Venkatarama Rao, K Ram Reddy, K Lakshma Reddy, honoured their teachers and headmasters.
Among those present were school correspondent Ramakrishna Reddy, headmaster Srinivas Reddy, secretary of the society Janardhan Reddy, besides many old students.
