Awareness session on EVMs, VVPATs held

Yousufguda: An awareness session was held on the use of EVMs and VVPATs in the premises of Nagarjuna High School located at Rajivnagar Colony of Yousufguda division on Friday.

Election officials BPO Murthy and CO Lakshmi demonstrated the use of EVMs and VVPATs to the residents of the colony.

Colony welfare association president Krishna Sharma, vice president Chandrashekhar Reddy, Shekhar Reddy, Vani Parvathi, Manik Rao, Durgaiah, Tirupathi, Karthik and others cast dummy votes in EVMs and expressed their satisfaction on the functioning of voting machines.

Speaking on the occasion, Krishna Sharma, the colony president said that their association has conducted voter enrolment program several times in their colony to help residents register their names in voter list.

He said that the session has helped the residents, especially new voters, understand the voting process.

He hoped that voter percentage would increase in the ensuing Parliament elections.
