Bad roads rankle commuters in Tandur

Tandur: Roads in municipal limits turned bad posing danger to the commuters. People were facing hardship while travelling on the road. Several road users were injured in frequent accidents.

The bad condition of the road was due to negligent attitude of the officials concerned. They have not been maintained properly for almost a year. Almost all roads in the town were full of potholes. The road from William High School to NTR Nagar was in pathetic condition. Gravel on the road surfaced making the journey slippery for two-wheelers.

"The condition of the roads here remained unchanged even after the change of government after the bifurcation," a commuter rued.

Some travelers attributed the bad condition of the roads to the callous attitude of the R&B officials. "Can we call this a road?" questioned another irate commuter. They appeal the authorities and government to take necessary steps to address the issue.

When contacted, the DE of the R&B Srinivas said that the development of the roads would be taken up soon. He informed that funds were sanctioned for the work and the tender process was also completed. "The works will commence within a couple of days," the DE announced.
