Balkampet Yellamma Kalyanam to be held on June 23, says minister Talasani
Minister for animal husbandry, Talasani Srinivas Yadav on Saturday said that Balkampet Yellamma Kalyanam will be held on June 23 on a low-key note in the view of prevailing COVID-19 situation in the state. The Rathotsavam will be held on the following day i.e., on June 24, in the temple itself.
The minister held a review meeting with endowments department, GHMC, police and other concerned officials on the arrangements being made for the Kalyanotsavam by following COVID-19 norms. He asked the officials to ensure the devotees following social distancing and wearing face masks. He also directed the officials to sanitize the temple and follow hygienic measures.
The Balkampet Yellamma Kalyanotsavam is being held in a grand manner every year as lakhs of devotees throng to the people to offer prayers. However, due to the prevailing COVID-19 situation, the Kalyanam will be held in the presence of the temple priests. The minister asked the public not to visit the temple for Kalyanam.
He further asked the devotees to stay at home and watch the event on TV as it will be live telecasted.
